About the Journal

The Panjab University Law Review (PULR) is a half-yearly, peer-reviewed and refereed journal published by the Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Established in 1951, PULR has a longstanding reputation for advancing legal scholarship in India and abroad. Since Volume 50 (2009), it has been recognized as a refereed journal, ensuring rigorous academic standards and wide circulation.

Theme/Topics

Volume 65, Part 1 does not prescribe a specific theme. Authors are encouraged to submit original work on:

  • Contemporary legal issues
  • Interdisciplinary subjects connected with law (economics, commerce, political science, sociology)
  • Analytical scholarship demonstrating originality, clarity, and systematic presentation

Publication Types

  • Research Papers / Review Articles: 5,000–6,000 words
  • Book Reviews: Around 2,500 words
  • Case Comments: Around 3,000 words

Word limits include footnotes. Manuscripts must demonstrate originality, novelty, and a clear connection between analysis and conclusion.

  • Teachers and academicians
  • Research scholars (India and abroad)

Co-authorship is permitted for up to three authors. Each author may submit only one manuscript, individually or jointly.

How to Submit

Submissions must be made through the Open Journal System (OJS) during the submission window:

  • Opens: October 16, 2026
  • Closes: October 31, 2026

Author Guidelines

Each submission must include:

  • Covering letter with author details (name, designation, affiliation, title, contact information)
  • Plagiarism report (Urkund/Turnitin)
  • Declaration of originality and exclusivity
  • Abstract (200–250 words) and 3–5 keywords

Formatting Requirements:

  • Manuscripts in MS Word format, British English
  • Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 line spacing, justified alignment
  • Footnotes in Times New Roman, font size 10
  • Blind peer-review: no author details in manuscript file
  • Citations: Bluebook, 19th edition
  • Tables/figures numbered consecutively with sources mentioned

Preparation Checklist

  • Ensure plagiarism is below 10%
  • Follow prescribed formatting and citation style
  • Provide bibliographic details separately, arranged alphabetically
  • Submission does not guarantee publication; final decision rests with the Editorial Board

Fee

Contributors whose work is published will be charged ₹500 for a printed copy of the journal. An electronic copy will be provided free of cost. Authors can track submission status via the OJS portal.
