Frontiers of Digital Law: AI Governance and the Protection of Neurorights Journal: Opinión Jurídica (Scopus‑Indexed) Publication: Vol. 25, No. 54 (July – December 2026)

Introduction:

The accelerating convergence of artificial intelligence and neurotechnologies is reshaping the foundations of global legal systems. AI governance frameworks aim to ensure responsibility, transparency, and ethics in autonomous systems, while the recognition of neurorights seeks to safeguard mental privacy and human integrity—the last frontier of freedom.

This Special Issue of Opinión Jurídica invites academics, researchers, and legal scholars to submit original, unpublished articles that critically examine these challenges from comparative and multidisciplinary perspectives. The goal is to consolidate a strong doctrinal foundation for 21st‑century law.

  • Free will and self‑determination under neuromodulation and algorithmic manipulation
  • Forensic challenges: neuroscientific evidence in judicial proceedings
