About DNLU Jabalpur:

Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), located in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, was founded in 2018 under the Madhya Pradesh Dharmashastra National Law University Act No. 24 of 2018. The university was established with a vision to advance legal education and to nurture value-driven professionals in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

DNLU emphasizes academic excellence, research, and holistic development. It actively promotes scholarly initiatives through seminars, conferences, workshops, and publications, thereby preparing students to contribute meaningfully to the legal profession and society.


About The Vantage Journal:

The Vantage is a bi-annual, double-blind peer-reviewed journal published under the aegis of DNLU. It serves as a platform for interdisciplinary research in law and social sciences, encouraging contributions from academicians, practitioners, and students.

The journal is structured into three dedicated sections:

  • Academicians’ Corner – for research-driven scholarly works.
  • Students’ Corner – for student-led research and analysis.
  • Interview Corner – featuring conversations with eminent personalities in law, policy, and governance.

The Vantage aims to foster intellectual dialogue, bridge gaps between law and social sciences, and promote high-quality research across diverse fields such as jurisprudence, public policy, human rights, international law, environmental law, sociology, anthropology, linguistics, and history.


Submission Guidelines:

All submissions undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure originality, relevance, and academic integrity. Authors are expected to provide:

  • A cover letter with author details, institutional affiliation, and topic/theme.
  • A maximum of three co-authors per submission.
  • Notification of any designation changes during the review process.

Accepted Formats:

  • Long Articles: 3,500–10,000 words
  • Short Articles: 1,200–3,500 words
  • Legislative & Case Comments: up to 2,000 words
  • Book Reviews: 1,000–1,500 words

Separate eligibility criteria apply for academicians, practitioners, postgraduate researchers, and students.

The journal welcomes contributions on topics such as:

  • Customary and Indigenous legal systems
  • Restorative justice and accountability
  • Indigenous knowledge in environmental law and governance
  • Cultural narratives in jurisprudence
  • Gender, caste, and equity in legal practices
  • Dharmaśāstra, Nyāya, and Indian epistemologies in modern law
  • AI, digital governance, and Indigenous perspectives
  • Legal pluralism and global constitutionalism
