About IJLCS:

The International Journal of Law, Culture and Society (IJLCS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal established by distinguished alumni and students of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) and the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU).

IJLCS advances scholarship that examines how legal norms interact with cultural values, social change, technological transformation, and global governance. The journal is published quarterly and adheres to COPE ethical guidelines, strict plagiarism standards, and a double-blind peer-review process.

Suggested Themes:

(Non-exhaustive—authors may submit on any theme within the journal’s broad scope)

– Comparative and International Law

– Culture and Society

– Human Rights & Social Justice

– Technology, Media & Society

– Environmental & Sustainability Law

– Criminal Justice & Criminology

– Legal Philosophy & Jurisprudence

Authors may also submit work on other relevant themes.

 Categories of Submission:

– Research Articles: 4,000–8,000 words

– Case Notes / Legislative Reviews: 2,000–4,000 words

– Book Reviews: 1,500–3,000 words

– Short Commentaries: Up to 2,000 words

Submission Guidelines:

Originality & Plagiarism:

– Manuscripts must be original and unpublished.

– Similarity must be below 15% (excluding references).

AI – Not allowed

Formatting Requirements:

– File: MS Word (.docx)

– Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

– Line spacing: 1.5

– Margins: 1 inch

– Consistent numbered headings

Citation Style:

– Harvard Bluebook (20th Edition)

Abstract & Keywords:

– 250–300 word abstract

– Five keywords

Submission Procedure:

Authors may submit via the official Google Form:

Each submission must include:

  1. Anonymised manuscript
  2. Title page with author details
  3. Abstract + keywords
  4. Declaration of originality

Review Process:

All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer review. Final decisions are typically communicated within 2-3 weeks of submission.
