About The South Asian Journal of International Law (SAJIL) is a bi-annual law journal and an initiative by Internationalism™, covering international law issues in a combination of theoretical and practical approaches focusing on the relationship between international law, public and private international legal developments in the South Asian region. Guided by a multinational Editorial Board, the Journal boasts a powerful academic impetus, having attracted more than 50 submissions for its first issue.
The Yearbook is the first of its initiatives by the Journal. Earlier, the Journal has published a number of bi-annual reviews and handbooks under its seal dealing with various aspects of International law and International relations. The central focus of the yearbook shall be the contemporary issues in South Asia pertaining to the field of International Law. The book shall be published in mid-2021.
The team of the South Asian Journal of International Law (SAJIL) invites unsolicited articles, case comments, case notes, case studies and State practices for its yearbook titled “The Place of International Law in South Asia”. Academicians, practitioners, researchers, students and other professionals interested in the field may send their original and unpublished works for publication. The manuscripts reviewed and approved by the Peer Reviewers and Editors will be published in the Yearbook. The team will be in the process of attainment of adequate recognition standards for the manuscripts published, for which the authors will be contacted shortly.
The papers must elaborate on State practices, case laws related to, and address the issues of South Asian nations in the field of International Law. Please note that papers written on general International Law issues will not be accepted and all submissions have to deal with issues and developments of South Asian countries.
The deadline for the submission of manuscripts is March 31, 2021, at 11:59 PM (Indian Standard Time).
All manuscripts will be initially reviewed by the Editors of the Yearbook and an initial decision on the manuscript will be reached within a span of two weeks which will help in determining if the manuscript can be sent for peer review.
The South Asian Yearbook of International Law follows a double blind peer review process where description and affiliation of the authors are not disclosed to the reviewers and is solely conducted on the basis of merit.
The South Asian Yearbook of International Law endeavors to complete the peer review process within two months of the manuscript submission deadline. However, the process might take longer depending upon the availability and acceptance by external reviewers to review the manuscript.
After the peer review process, conditional acceptance may be given to the author which solely depends upon the author making the changes suggested by the external reviewers and Editorial Board. The author will be given a time of two weeks to make the changes recommended. The manuscript is processed for final publication only after the author makes the requisite changes and resends his/her respective manuscript.
