About the Journal:
The Delhi Law Review (DLR) [ISSN 0971‑4936] is the flagship journal of the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. Established in 1972, it is one of India’s oldest law journals. Published annually, DLR is a double‑blind, peer‑reviewed journal that has consistently advanced rigorous scholarship in diverse areas of law. The archive of past volumes is available at Delhi Law Review Archive.
Categories of Submission:
DLR invites original, unpublished contributions from academicians, judges, legal professionals, and judicial officers in India and abroad on contemporary legal issues. Submissions are welcome in the following categories:
- Articles: 8,000–10,000 words (including footnotes)
- Case Notes & Legislative Comments: 4,000–6,000 words (including footnotes)
- Book Reviews: 1,500–3,000 words (including footnotes)
- Translation Work with Critical Comments: 1,500–3,000 words (including footnotes)
Note: While DLR primarily publishes contributions from academicians and legal professionals, PhD research scholars may be considered on a case‑to‑case basis. Student submissions are published separately under the DLR Student Edition.
General Instructions:
- Articles and Case Notes must include an abstract not exceeding 200 words.
- Translations of classical works on jurisprudence, constitutional philosophy, and speeches may be considered with prior intimation to the Editors.
- All submissions must comply with the UGC Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism Regulations, 2018
- Word limits may be relaxed depending on quality.
- The Editorial Board’s decision on acceptance is final. Review typically takes eight weeks.
- Copyright in accepted manuscripts vests with DLR. Reproduction requires prior written permission.
- Deadline for submission: May 30, 2026, 11:59 p.m. IST.
Formatting Guidelines:
- Manuscripts must be anonymous (no author details or metadata).
- First page: Title and abstract only. Second page: Begin main body.
- Text: Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 line spacing.
- Footnotes: Times New Roman, font size 10, single spacing.
- Citation style: ILI Rules of Citation. Endnotes are not preferred.
Submission Process:
- Submissions must be electronic, sent via email to delhilawreviewdlr@gmail.com with subject line: “DLR Vol.37 Submission”.
- Attach manuscript in Word format (.doc/.docx). PDF or hard copy submissions will not be accepted.
- File name: “DLR Vol.37 manuscript title” (anonymous).
- Email body must include:
- Author(s) name(s)
- Designation
- Institutional affiliation
- Contact number
- Title of paper
- Declaration: “I/we declare that the manuscript is an original and previously unpublished work written by me/us. I/we undertake full responsibility for any dispute arising out of the manuscript, including but not limited to copyright infringement, defamation, or contempt.”
