ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY:

Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai, established under the Maharashtra National Law University Act 2014 on 20th March 2014, is one of the premier National Law Universities in India. The Act envisaged to establish National Law University in Maharashtra to impart advanced legal education and promote society-oriented research in legal studies for the advancement of the societal life of the people in the country.

The prime goal of the University is to disseminate advanced legal knowledge and processes of law amongst the students and impart in them the skills of advocacy, legal services, law reforms and make them aware and capable of utilizing these instruments for social transformation and development.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

“This ICSSR-funded longitudinal study examines whether aggressive pricing practices of fast-growing ecommerce platforms might affect the livelihoods of India’s street vendors across major cities. The project combines field surveys, interviews, and legal-regulatory analysis to generate evidence on sales loss, socioeconomic impact, and policy gaps. Selected candidates will work and research on competition law& Policy, cyber law, Platform governance and platform economy, urban hawker communities, retailers, consumers, and officials to collect high-quality data. The study aims to propose reforms for fair digital markets and strengthen protections for informal traders.”

APPLICATION PROCESS:

1. All the applicants are required to apply by 15th April, 2026, 11:59 p.m. Application beyond this date and time shall not be accepted.
2. The applicants are required to submit their CV, reference of previous employment, if any. A Statement of Purpose (maximum 400 words) and a writing sample (published/unpublished) preferably sole authored to mnluproject@mnlumumbai.edu.in with the subject ‘Application for [Position Applied For]) via email.
3. Only shortlisted candidatesshall be called for an interview.
4. Once selected, the candidates shall be informed of their selection via email.
5. No accommodation shall be provided post joining.
