About the School:

The JSW School of Public Policy (JSW‑SPP) at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) is an emerging centre of excellence dedicated to advancing scholarship in public policy. Established with support from the JSW Group, the School contributes to knowledge creation through cutting‑edge research on policy formulation, design, choice, and impact, while offering innovative educational programmes.

Position: Academic Associate

The School invites applications for the post of Academic Associate to assist faculty in teaching, research, and administrative coordination. This role provides an opportunity to engage with academic activities at one of India’s premier institutions.

Job Profile:

Selected candidates will support faculty in academic and administrative tasks, including:

• Assisting in course design and delivery (outlines, reading lists, lecture notes, handouts, case material).
• Managing class logistics, attendance, and participation records.
• Supporting grading of assignments, quizzes, and projects.
• Conducting tutorials and remedial sessions when required.
• Organizing academic events such as workshops, seminars, and conferences.
• Coordinating with academic offices across programmes (PGP, PGPX, PhD, FDP, etc.).
• Assisting in invigilation duties and examination processes.
• Supporting faculty research and case writing.
• Learning and applying digital tools for online teaching and research.
• Liaising with the Research & Publications Office and Case Unit for dissemination of academic output.

Key Skills Required:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in digital tools and technologies.
• Organizational ability and attention to detail.
• Capacity to multitask and self‑motivation.
• Prior teaching or research experience is an advantage.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Age Limit: Maximum 35 years.
• Qualifications: Ph.D., M.Phil., or Master’s degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Management, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, or related disciplines from a reputed institution.
• Minimum two years of experience preferred; outstanding academic achievers without prior experience may also be considered.

Remuneration:

• Consolidated monthly salary: ₹35,000 – ₹40,000.
• Housing support: ₹8,000 per month.
• Annual Development Allowance: Financial assistance for paper presentations and professional development as per institute norms.
• TA/DA for official tours will be provided.
• Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Duration:

• Initial appointment: Two years, extendable annually up to a maximum of five years, subject to performance review.
• Candidates are expected to commit for at least two to three years, aligning with the School’s long‑term academic vision.
