About Journal of Intellectual Property Laws:

Journal of Intellectual Property Laws (JIPL) is an academic initiative of the Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, Institute of Law, Nirma University. The Journal provides a platform for students, academicians, researchers, and legal professionals to contribute to scholarly discussion in the field of IPR.

JIPL aims to encourage original research, critical analysis, and diverse perspectives on contemporary and emerging issues in intellectual property laws. Through its publications, the Journal seeks to contribute to the discourse on IPR and promote a better understanding of its evolving legal, technological, and commercial dimensions.

The Centre for Intellectual Property Rights (CIPR), Institute of Law, Nirma University is pleased to invite original, unpublished submissions for Volume X of JIPL [ISSN: 2455-0361].

Eligibility:

The Centre for Intellectual Property Rights (CIPR), Institute of Law, Nirma University, invites original and unpublished submissions from Academicians, Legal professionals, Research Scholars, and Students currently pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, or doctoral studies at a recognised university or institution.

Theme:

Intellectual Property Rights in the Digital Economy: Data Protection, Cybersecurity, and Digital Personality in the Age of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence

Suggested sub-themes include:

• Intellectual Property Protection of Proprietary Information and Commercial Knowledge in the Digital Economy.
• Intellectual Property Enforcement in the Digital Environment: Online Infringement, Intermediary Liability and Cross-Border Protection.
• Personal Data Protection and Its Intersection with Intellectual Property Rights.
• Intellectual Property Rights in Digital Platforms: Ownership, Licensing, Content Creation and Commercial Exploitation.
• Intellectual Property Protection in Emerging Technologies across Copyright, Trademarks, Patents and Designs.
• Intellectual Property Protection against Cybersecurity Threats and Digital Misappropriation of Creative Works and Technological Innovation.
• Digital Personality, Copyright and Performers’ Rights: Protection against Deepfakes, Digital Replicas and Unauthorised Use of Image, Voice and Likeness.
• Posthumous Intellectual Property and Personality Rights for the Protection of Digital and Commercial Legacies.
• Intellectual Property Protection in the Data Economy: Copyright, Database Rights, Data Ownership and Commercial Access to Information.

(The sub-themes are indicative, and authors may write on any other topic within the main theme.)

Submission Deadline:

The submission must be accompanied with an abstract of 250 words (the word limit for abstract is exclusive of the word limit for main paper submission)

• Last Date for Paper Submission: 30 November, 2026
• Notification of Acceptance: 31 March, 2027 (Tentative)
