About the Journal

The GLC‑SPIL International Law Journal is an esteemed annual publication of SPIL Mumbai. It is a double‑blind, peer‑reviewed, open access journal dedicated to fostering critical thought and dialogue in international law. Each edition features cutting‑edge research, insightful articles, and analyses by scholars, practitioners, and students, covering diverse areas such as public international law, transnational commercial law, human rights, and environmental law.

With a highly‑affiliated editorial board, the Journal upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and scholarship, serving as a platform for advancing knowledge and debate in global legal challenges.

Aim and Scope

The Journal seeks to promote original, high‑quality, and impactful legal research. Published bi‑annually under the aegis of SPIL, Government Law College, Mumbai, it welcomes contributions from students, academics, practitioners, and researchers worldwide.

• Scope: Public and Private International Law, including trade law, humanitarian law, environmental law, human rights, dispute resolution, investment law, and international institutions.
• Publication Structure:
  • Issue I: General topics under international law.
  • Issue II: Thematic issue linked to the annual GLC International Law Summit.

Submission Categories

• Long Articles: 6,000–10,000 words
• Short Articles/Essays: 4,000–6,000 words
• Case Comments/Legislative Notes: 2,000–3,000 words
• Treaty and Instrument Analyses: 2,000–3,000 words
• Book Reviews: 2,000–3,000 words

Submission Policy & Guidelines

• Submissions must be original, unpublished work.
• No simultaneous submissions permitted.
• Manuscripts must be in editable formats (.doc/.docx), renamed as per topic, without author identification.
• All submissions must be accompanied by the Certificate of Originality and Copyright.
• Plagiarism limit: 10% maximum.
• Language: English, using British spelling conventions.
• Citations: Harvard Bluebook, 21st Edition.
• Formatting: Times New Roman, font size 12 (text), 10 (footnotes), 1.5 line spacing, margins 1 inch.
• Review process: 4–8 weeks.

Eligibility & Authorship

• Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students, practitioners, academicians, and research scholars.
• Maximum of two authors per submission.
• Abstract (300 words max) required with every manuscript.

• Notification of Acceptance: Within 4–8 weeks of review
