14th Annual International Research Conference on Rule of Law in Context (SYMROLIC 2026)

Introduction

Symbiosis Law School, Pune, in association with its sister institutions at Hyderabad, Nagpur, and Noida, is hosting the 14th Annual International Research Conference on Rule of Law in Context (SYMROLIC 2026). Scheduled for 18th–19th September 2026, the conference will be held at Symbiosis Law School, Pune, with hybrid participation available for international and remote delegates.

About Symbiosis International (Deemed University)

Symbiosis International University (SIU), established in 1971, is a multi-disciplinary institution embodying the ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (“World as One Family”). About Symbiosis Law School, Pune

About SCALSAR – Faculty of Law

The Symbiosis Centre for Advanced Legal Studies and Research (SCALSAR), established formally in 2013, is the research hub of SIU. SCALSAR has received prestigious EU project grants and has contributed to a 26.48% increase in Scopus-indexed publications in 2025–26. About SYMROLIC 2026

SYMROLIC began in 2012 as a national research forum and has evolved into an international platform. The 2026 edition focuses on:

  • Institutional Uncertainty
  • Future of Multilateral Global Governance

The conference will deliberate on how legal institutions can respond to geopolitical, environmental, technological, and governance challenges. A Plenary Session will address “Revisiting India’s Research and Innovation Landscape in Emerging Areas”, examining India’s evolving research ecosystem in light of global shifts.

  1. Law and Human Behaviour – Social psychology, displacement, transitional justice, gender, and indigenous communities.
  2. Business, Trade, Commerce, Management and Law – ESG frameworks, global supply chains, arbitration, and responsible investment.

  6. Public Law, Society and Governance – Democratic backsliding, press freedom, ecocide, and child protection in conflict zones.
  7. Special Track – Interdisciplinary perspectives on global knowledge creation, policy, intellectual property, and law.

  • Co-authorship permitted (up to 3 authors). Selected papers will be published in Scopus/WoS indexed proceedings.
