The University emphasizes research, scholarship, and practical legal training through mooting, competitions, and academic publications. Its motto, “सत्यं वद, धर्म चर” (Speak the truth, follow dharma), reflects its dedication to justice and ethical conduct.
Founded in 2024, the Centre for Studies in Tribal and Indigenous Communities (CSTIC) focuses on tribal history, culture, and welfare. It conducts field studies, publishes a peer‑reviewed journal, and provides policy recommendations on healthcare, education, and entitlements. CSTIC also works to empower tribal youth and leaders through educational programs and sustainable livelihood initiatives.
Established in 1954, the Tribal Research and Development Institute (TRDI) conducts anthropological and cultural research on tribal communities of Madhya Pradesh. It organizes workshops, seminars, and training programs for officials and public representatives, focusing on constitutional and protective measures for tribals. TRDI also manages the Shri Badal Bhoi State Tribal Museum at Chhindwara.
The National Conference aims to explore the interplay between tribal customs, constitutional safeguards, and statutory frameworks. It provides a platform for academicians, researchers, and policymakers to deliberate on legal reforms, cultural preservation, and inclusive governance, fostering dialogue for protecting indigenous identity and advancing social justice.
