Concept Note

India’s development journey has entered a decisive phase in the 21st century. As the nation approaches its 79th year of independence, the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 has emerged as a comprehensive national ambition. It seeks to integrate economic growth, social justice, environmental sustainability, technological advancement, cultural renaissance, and ethical governance into a holistic framework.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2023 Independence Day address articulated this blueprint, envisioning India’s transformation from a $3.5 trillion economy to a $30 trillion powerhouse with per capita income exceeding $18,000. Beyond economic metrics, the vision emphasizes inclusive growth, democratic resilience, and sustainable development.

This seminar aims to interrogate policy gaps, governance challenges, and institutional capacities while fostering dialogue among academicians, policymakers, and research scholars. It will provide a platform for young researchers to critically engage with the idea of Viksit Bharat, explore its multidimensional aspects, and recommend innovative pathways for achieving its goals.
