About NLU Delhi:

Established in 2008, National Law University Delhi (NLUD) has emerged as one of India’s premier law schools, consistently ranked among the top institutions for legal education. NLUD regularly collaborates with leading practitioners, professionals, and academicians to deliver specialized courses that foster advanced legal scholarship.

Invitation for Seminar Courses:

NLU Delhi invites expressions of interest (EoI) from eminent practitioners, professionals, and academicians to offer seminar courses in diverse and evolving areas of law during the upcoming August–December 2026 semester.

These seminar courses are designed to foster advanced learning among students, with instructors enjoying complete academic freedom in designing the course, pedagogy, and evaluation methods. This freedom is coupled with the responsibility of ensuring higher academic consciousness and scholarly rigor.

Course Structure:

  • Credits: 5
  • Total Hours: 75 (50–52 hours of intensive teaching + 23–25 hours of mandatory reading)
  • Weekly Schedule: 4 hours/week (2+2 hours), twice a week
  • Mode of Delivery:
    • At least 50% classes (25 hours) conducted physically on campus at NLUD, Dwarka
    • Remaining 50% (25 hours) may be conducted online
  • No classes on Sundays

Eligibility:

  • Eminent practitioners/professionals/academicians with at least 10 years of standing are preferred.
  • Applicants must demonstrate extraordinary contribution in a specialized field of law.

Important Dates:

  • Last Date for Submission of EoI: 10 July 2026
  • Commencement of Seminar Classes: 1 August 2026
  • Last Teaching Day: 20 November 2026

Application Process:

Interested applicants must submit:

  • A detailed CV
  • A course outline in the prescribed template (attached)

Applications should be sent via email to: seminar-courses@nludelhi.ac.in

All proposals will be reviewed and approved by the Course Development Committee (CDC) and the Vice Chancellor before being offered.

Honorarium:

  • External course instructors will receive a modest honorarium of ₹1,25,000/- per course.
  • If there are two instructors, the amount will be equally distributed internally by the lead faculty.
  • No additional remuneration is permitted for guest faculty engaged by the instructor.

Excluded Themes:

Applicants are requested not to submit proposals on the following themes, as they were offered in the previous semester:

  • International Financial Institutions and Climate Funds
  • Competition Law and Policy
  • Conflict of Law Issues in Civil and Commercial Disputes
  • Fiscal Responsibility and Constitutional Governance
  • Foundations of Digital Ethics
  • Global Digital Innovation and Regulation
  • Mental Health and Law
  • Migration, Citizenship, and Belonging in Modern South Asia
  • Specific Relief Act, 1963
  • Sports and Intellectual Property Law
  • Public Policy (Art and Science)
  • Contemporary Issues in Contractual Disputes
  • Advanced International Commercial Arbitration

Course Proposal Template (Key Components):

Applicants must include the following in their course outline:

  • Course Title
  • Instructor Name & Designation
  • Semester: August–December 2026
  • Preferred Class Timings: Three preferences between 2:30 PM – 10 PM (Mon–Sat)
  • Course Description: Contemporary relevance, advanced learning scope, choice of materials
  • Learning Outcomes: Skills, knowledge, and dispositions expected from students
  • Pedagogy: Lectures, Socratic discussion, seminar style, group work, fieldwork, etc.
  • Evaluation Scheme:
    • Internal Assignments (max 2, total 70 marks)
    • End‑term written exam (30 marks)
  • Essential Readings: Module‑wise mandatory readings (23–25 hours)
  • Basic Readings: 2–3 core textbooks for library reference
  • Module‑wise Syllabus: 8–10 modules, 40–48 hours of content, with specific readings
  • Additional Guidelines: Seminar paper instructions, participation rubric, expectations
