About the Department of Law:

Established in 2008 under the aegis of Maharishi Markandeshwar Trust, the Department of Law offers B.A. LL.B, BBA LL.B (Hons.), B.Com LL.B (Hons.) (5-year integrated courses) and LL.M (1-year). With distinguished faculty and a growth-oriented environment, the department is committed to nurturing students with legal knowledge, advocacy skills, and professional responsibility.

Competition Schedule:

  • Preliminary Round (Online): 15th April 2026
  • Quarter-Finals & Semi-Finals (Offline): 24th April 2026
  • Final Round (Offline): 25th April 2026

Eligibility & Team Composition:

  • Open to students pursuing 3-year LL.B or 5-year integrated LL.B programmes in India.
  • Teams: Minimum 2 members, maximum 3 members (two speakers + one researcher).
  • Multiple teams from the same institution may register.

Registration Details:

  • Preliminary Round (Online): ₹3700 per team (Early Bird: ₹3500).
  • Advanced Rounds (Offline): ₹2500 per team (for qualifiers).
  • Registration is complete only upon submission of the form and payment.

Memorial Submission:

  • Strict adherence to formatting rules (Bluebook 20th edition citation, 40-page limit).

Oral Rounds:

  • Preliminary (Online): 20 minutes per team (max 12 min per speaker).
  • Quarter/Semi/Final (Offline): 25 minutes per team (max 15 min per speaker).
  • Rebuttal/sur-rebuttal allowed within allotted time.

Awards & Prizes:

  • Best Team (Winner): Trophy + ₹21,000
  • Runners-Up: Trophy + ₹15,000
  • Best Mooter: ₹5,000
  • Best Memorial: ₹5,000
  • Best Researcher: ₹5,000 (based on researcher test)
  • Certificates of Merit for quarter-finalists and beyond; participation certificates for all.
