7th National Moot Court Competition – April 4–5, 2026:

The School of Legal Studies and Governance, Career Point University (CPU), Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, is organizing its 7th National Moot Court Competition on April 4–5, 2026. This prestigious event continues the university’s tradition of fostering advocacy, research, and courtroom skills among law students across India.


About Career Point University:

  • Established in 2012 through a State Legislature Act.
  • UGC approved, NAAC accredited, ranked under ARIIA-MOE (Government of India).
  • Member of AIU, Delhi.
  • Winner of Smart India Hackathon 2020 and recipient of the Green Champion Award.
  • Offers 39 undergraduate, 30 postgraduate, and 16 doctoral programs across diverse disciplines.
  • Facilities include a Military Training Centre, Shooting Range, Innovation Hub, Legal Aid Clinic, NSS, NCC, and Student Welfare Council.

About the Department of Law:

  • Established in 2014 with B.A. LL.B. program.
  • LL.M. program introduced in 2015; Ph.D. in Law approved in 2019–20.

Memorial Guidelines:

  • Two memorials: Petitioner (Blue cover) & Respondent (Red cover).
  • Structure: Cover Page, Table of Contents, Abbreviations, Authorities, Jurisdiction, Facts, Issues, Summary, Pleadings, Prayer.
  • Length: 25–30 pages.
  • Formatting: Times New Roman, size 12 (main text), size 10 (footnotes), 1.5 line spacing, ILI citation format.
  • Penalty: 3 marks per missing copy.

Competition Structure:

  • Researcher’s Test – Mandatory, 20 marks.
  • Preliminary Rounds – 30 minutes per team (incl. rebuttals).
  • Semi-finals – 30 minutes per team.
  • Finals – 40 minutes per team.
  • Language: English only.
  • Strict anonymity maintained via team codes.

Dress Code:

  • Girls: White salwar-kurta or white shirt + black trousers, black coat, tie, shoes.
  • Boys: White shirt + black trousers, black coat, tie, shoes.
