  • CASIHR (Centre for Advanced Studies in Human Rights): Dedicated to advanced study and interdisciplinary research in human rights, CASIHR promotes debates and discussions at regional, national, and international levels.

About the Conference:

The introduction of the four new Labour Codes marks a major transformation in India’s labour law regime. While aiming to consolidate and modernise existing legislations, these codes raise critical concerns about:

  • Labour welfare and social security
  • Collective bargaining and trade union rights
  • Human rights implications for formal and informal sector workers

This conference provides an interdisciplinary platform for academicians, practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and students to critically analyse whether the new framework strengthens or dilutes labour protections in India.

Objectives:

  • Critically examine the framework and implementation of the new labour codes
  • Analyse human rights implications of labour law reforms
  • Evaluate impact on vulnerable and informal sector workers
  • Foster discourse on labour welfare, dignity of labour, and social justice
  • Encourage interdisciplinary engagement between labour law and human rights scholarship

  • Labour Codes and the Right to Dignified Work
  • Code on Wages and the Right to Livelihood
  • Industrial Relations Code and Freedom of Association
  • Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions as Human Rights
