About Peitho Cup 2026

The 2nd Edition of Peitho Cup brings together law and non-law students from across India for high-level discourse. This year introduces the Reporter’s Showdown alongside the flagship Asian Parliamentary Debate.

Competition Structure:

  • Preliminary Rounds (Online): 12–13 September 2026
  • Offline Rounds (Octa-Finals to Finals): 3–4 October 2026 at CHRIST University, Lavasa Campus

This event promises thought-provoking debates, reporting challenges, and an enriching intellectual atmosphere.

Registration Details

  • Eligibility: Open to all university students (law and non-law).
  • Team Limit: Maximum of 3 teams per institution.
  • Registration Deadlines:
    • Early Bird: 1 August 2026 (₹3300 per team of 4)
    • Regular: 20 August 2026 (₹4000 per team of 4)
  • Offline Round Fees: ₹2500 (Debate Team of 3) + ₹850 (Reporter)

  • Assignment of Team Codes: 1 September 2026

Preliminary Round Motions

  1. Media houses criminally liable for presenting paid news without disclosure.
  2. Prohibition of unauthorised use of public figure’s identity; stronger personality rights.
  3. Legal liability for influencers/celebrities in misleading endorsements.
  4. Restriction on influencers/podcasters giving professional advice without qualifications.

Prizes

  • Debate Winner: ₹50,000 | Runner-Up: ₹30,000
  • Reporter Winner: ₹10,000 | Runner-Up: ₹7,000
  • Best Speaker: ₹10,000
