Invitation to Teach Elective Courses at NLSIU Bengaluru:

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru invites applications from interested individuals to offer Elective Courses in the third trimester of the Academic Year 2025–26.

Trimester: March 2 – May 26, 2026
Deadline for Applications: December 31, 2025

Course Requirements:

  • Duration: 10 weeks (March 2 – May 26, 2026)
  • Engagement: 40 hours of classroom teaching + 2 office hours per week
  • Mode: In‑person, on campus
  • Types of Electives:
    • Taught Courses (lecture/discussion with exam)
    • Research Courses (leading to a term paper)
    • Practice/Clinical Courses (fieldwork, drafting, litigation, simulation)

Teaching & Support:

  • Classes scheduled between 9 am – 7 pm (weekdays); most electives run between 2 pm – 7 pm.
  • Visiting faculty may be supported by an Academic Associate (subject to availability).
  • Class size: typically 15–35 students from BA LL.B (Hons), LL.B (Hons), LL.M, BA (Hons), and MPP programmes.

Travel & Accommodation:

  • Airfare: One domestic economy return ticket (Bengaluru).
  • Accommodation: Off‑campus facility provided for the first 10 days; extension possible on a paid basis.

Eligibility:

  • Graduate and post‑graduate degree in Law or Social Sciences.
  • Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience preferred.
  • Alternatively, 7–10 years of legal practice experience.
  • Preference for individuals with significant publications in their field.

Honorarium:

Visiting faculty will receive an honorarium.

  • Deadline: December 31, 2025.
  • Proposals reviewed by the Academic Review Committee (ARC) for academic merit, viability, and student interest.
  • Courses are confirmed only if approved by ARC and meet minimum student subscription requirements.
