About the Competition:

The Lex Nova 1.0 National Blog Writing Competition is an initiative of the Pro Bono Club at NLU Tripura. Designed as a platform for legal awareness and creative expression, the competition highlights the indispensable role of pro bono and legal aid services in advancing equitable justice.

Open to students (UG/PG) and academicians across India, Lex Nova 1.0 invites participants to contribute original blogs that reflect on justice, service, and the evolving landscape of pro bono work.

Through this competition, the Club seeks to inspire young writers to use words as instruments of reform—where ideas ignite change, and stories advocate for those unheard.

Purpose of the Event:

The Pro Bono Club at NLU Tripura works to translate the constitutional promise of equal access to justice into grassroots action. Its initiatives include:

  • Legal awareness drives
  • Fieldwork and community outreach
  • Collaborations with NGOs
  • Engagement with platforms like the Nyaya Bandhu App, connecting citizens with volunteer advocates

Lex Nova 1.0 extends this mission into the digital space, encouraging participants to write for justice and contribute to the national discourse on legal aid.

Top 5 blogs will be published on the official website of the Pro Bono Club, offering national visibility and academic recognition.

Certificates:

  • Certificate of Participation for all valid submissions
  • Certificates of Merit for the top three winners

Submission Guidelines:

  • Registration is mandatory.
  • Blogs must be in English, submitted in MS Word format (.doc/.docx).
  • Word limit: Maximum 1500 words (excluding footnotes).
  • Formatting: Times New Roman, Size 12, Line Spacing 1.5, Justified Alignment.
  • Referencing: Endnotes, following ILI citation format.
  • Submissions must be original and unpublished.
  • Plagiarism above 15% will lead to disqualification.
  • Evaluation criteria: Relevance to theme, originality, clarity, legal accuracy, and social impact.
  • The decision of the judges is final and binding.
  • Submissions only via the Google Form link provided in the brochure.
  • Non-compliance with guidelines will result in cancellation of candidature.
