About Department of Law

The Department of Law Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be university) New Delhi is a premier law school located in Delhi, India. The infrastructure of the Department of Law, BVIMR is well-equipped to cater to the needs of its students. The college also has a library with an extensive collection of books, journals, and research databases such as SCC Online, Manupatra, and LexisNexis, enabling the students to access and study legal literature and research materials easily.

The college offers two undergraduate law programs – a 5-year integrated programme (BBA LL.B) and a three-year programme (LL.B). The Department of Law has developed a Moot Court Society, which helps students develop their advocacy and public speaking skills by organizing and participating in moot court competitions.

About Legalebration

Legalebration is a platform where the law students can showcase their legal skills leading to experiential learning. It enables the students across colleges to bring their intellectual knowledge and creativity. The event is based on the strong belief that students from various law schools have immense talent which can be polished by eminent legal luminaries. The event aims to enhance the quality of through excellence and leadership in professionally.

Events in Legalebration:

CLIENT COUNSELLING:

The competition aims to provide students with practical exposure to client interaction, legal problem-solving, and professional ethics leading to a holistic development of practical advocacy. Participants will be required to counsel a client (role-play) based on a given legal scenario. The problem for client counselling will be given 1day prior.

Eligibility: Students pursuing 3 year LLB or 5 year integrated BBALLB/ BA LLB/ B Com. LLB course/ Any Post Graduate Law Course from recognised Universities. All Participants shall carry college ID card and Aadhar card.

Team Structure: Each team shall comprise of maximum 3 members, 2 Advocates and 1 Client. The Competition shall be conducted in English language and proper dress code for advocates shall be followed.

Time: Each Team shall be given 15 minutes

Registration: The participants have to register through the registration link provided in the e-poster. Mention the names of all team members.

Participation fee- Rs. 400/tea

MOCK PARLIAMENT

Participants will represent different political parties and engage in debates on pre-assigned bills and motions that shall enhance their public speaking and debating skills and make them aware about the law making process.

Topic: Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming bill 2025

Eligibility: Students pursuing 3 year LLB or 5 year integrated BBALLB/ BA LLB/ B Com. LLB course/ Any Post Graduate Law Course from recognised Universities. All Participants shall carry college ID card and Aadhar card.

Team Structure: Each team shall comprise of maximum 3 members:

  1. The Government team- Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister (Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology)
  2. The Opposition Team- Leader of Opposition, Deputy Leader, Opposition Whip
  3. The Competition shall be conducted in English language and proper dress code shall be followed.

Time: Each Team (for and against the motion) shall be given 15 minutes

Registration: The participants have to register through the registration link provided in the e-poster. Mention the names of all team members.

Participation fee- Rs. 400/team

Note- No electronic devices shall be used during debate. The parties have to prepare both from government and opposite side as the competing teams will be decide by draw of lots.

EXTEMPORE DEABATE

The competition aims to provide students with an opportunity to showcase their legal knowledge, quick thinking, and public speaking skills. Participants will be given legal topics on the spot and will be required to speak without prior preparation. The event shall enhance the spontaneous thinking ability of the students and learn time management skills.

Eligibility: Students pursuing 3 year LLB or 5 year integrated BBALLB/ BA LLB/ B Com. LLB course/ Any Post Graduate Law Course from recognised Universities. All Participants shall carry college ID card and Aadhar card.

Time Duration- 3 minutes/ speaker.

Registration: The participants have to register through the registration link provided in the e-poster. Mention the names of all team members.

Participation fee- Rs. 200/participant

PIL DRAFTING COMPETITION

This event shall enhance the probono litigation skill testing their legal drafting and argumentative skills promoting budding lawyers to ensure social justice. The participants have to draft a PIL showcasing their legal reasoning on an emergent legal issue.

Eligibility: Students pursuing 3 year LLB or 5 year integrated BBALLB/ BA LLB/ B Com. LLB course/ Any Post Graduate Law Course from recognised Universities. All Participants shall carry college ID card and Aadhar card. The Competition shall be conducted in English language and proper dress code for advocates shall be followed.

Time Duration- 10 minutes/ speaker.

Registration: The participants have to register through the registration link provided in the e-poster. No team only individual participation.

Participation fee- Rs. 200/participant

Note: Final PIL draft shall be mailed by the participant before 12th September 2025.

POSTER MAKING COMPETITION

The event aims to enable the students to showcase their creativity and legal awareness through visual art.

Eligibility: Students pursuing 3 year LLB or 5 year integrated BBALLB/ BA LLB/ B Com. LLB course/ Any Post Graduate Law Course from recognised Universities. All Participants shall carry college ID card and Aadhar card.

Time Duration- 40 minutes

Registration: The participants have to register through the registration link provided in the e-poster. Mention the names of all team members.

Participation fee- Rs. 200/participant or 400/team (Max 3 members)

Note: Students have to get their own stationery, colours etc.
