The Indian Society of International Law (ISIL) is organizing a one-day seminar on the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) — marking over 50 years since its adoption. The BWC, enacted in 1975, was the first multilateral treaty to ban an entire category of weapons of mass destruction. It prohibits the development, production, and acquisition of biological weapons while promoting peaceful biological research and international cooperation in the life sciences.
The seminar will critically explore:
Selected papers will be considered for publication in ISIL’s forthcoming edited volume, subject to peer review.
