About the Opportunity:

The Judicial Academy, Jharkhand, Ranchi, invites applications from eligible candidates for two contractual positions of Research Scholars. These roles are designed to support academic and research activities under the direct supervision of the Director, Judicial Academy.

Available Posts:

• Research Scholar (Civil Law) – 01
• Research Scholar (Corporate & Other Laws) – 01

Remuneration:

Selected candidates will receive a consolidated honorarium of ₹50,000 per month. No additional allowances or perquisites are admissible. Unauthorized absence will result in proportionate reduction of remuneration.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Educational Qualification: LL.M. from a recognized university.
• Age Limit: Maximum 30 years as on the date of advertisement.
• Other Requirements: Candidates must not be involved in any criminal case, whether convicted or pending trial, or in matters involving moral turpitude.

Key Responsibilities:

Research Scholars will undertake academic and research assignments as directed by the Judicial Academy, including:

• Preparation of study materials.
• Conducting doctrinal and empirical research on topics related to justice administration.
• Searching case laws, articles, and papers relevant to judicial and administrative work.
• Assisting in research projects and knowledge dissemination activities.

During the tenure, Research Scholars are prohibited from accepting any other assignment.

Selection Process:

• Academic Performance: 50 marks
• Interview & Domain Knowledge: 50 marks
• Shortlisting will be limited to 10–15 times the number of advertised vacancies.

Examination Fee:

Applicants must submit a Demand Draft of ₹500 in favour of Director, Judicial Academy Jharkhand. The candidate’s name and address must be mentioned on the reverse side of the draft.

Application Guidelines:

• Applications must be filled in English.
• Incomplete applications or those not conforming to prescribed requirements will be rejected.
• The envelope must clearly state: “Application for the post of Research Scholar (Civil Law / Corporate & Other Laws)”.
• Applications must be sent by Registered/Speed Post to:
  Director, Judicial Academy Jharkhand, Near Dhurwa Dam, Dhurwa, Ranchi – 834004.
• Candidates already in employment should apply through proper channel.

Tenure & Contractual Terms:

• Initial engagement is for one year on a purely contractual basis, extendable annually up to a maximum of five years, subject to satisfactory performance.
• The appointment does not confer any claim to regular service.
• Premature termination may be effected with one month’s notice or remuneration in lieu thereof.
