Call for Applications: Ph.D. in Law – January 2026 Cycle:

Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh is inviting applications for Ph.D. registration in Law for the January 2026 cycle.

Ph.D. Registration Details:

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for Ph.D. in Law (January 2026 cycle).

Application Requirements:

Candidates must submit an application addressed to the Chairperson, Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh, along with:

Photocopies of LL.B. and LL.M. mark sheets
Conversion formula of CGPA
Entrance result card / NET / JRF certificate (self‑attested)
A typed research proposal (2500–3000 words, four hard copies) in 12‑point font, 1.5 spacing, both‑sided typing

The research proposal topic must match the intended Ph.D. area and should not overlap with topics completed in the last 10 years (list available on the department website notice board).

Last date for submission of research proposal: 20 December 2025 (by 5:00 PM)
Cycle: January 2026

Selection Process:

Candidates will present a PowerPoint presentation of their research proposal before the Research Advisory Committee.
Registration will be recommended only if the proposal and presentation are found satisfactory.
Topic changes are not permitted later (except minor modifications).
After approval, candidates must submit the Ph.D. registration form signed by their supervisor, along with original documents (LL.B., LL.M. DMCs, LL.M. degree, Entrance/NET/JRF certificate, Migration Certificate if applicable, No Objection Certificate if employed, etc.) and prescribed fee.
