LexTech – Centre for Law, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation – focuses on FinTech, AI, TMT, Online Gaming, and Data Privacy. About the Competition:

The Paper Presentation Competition invites participants to present original research on contemporary issues at the intersection of law, technology, and startups. Topics include FinTech, Data Privacy, AI, Telecommunications, Media & Technology, Online Gaming, and Startup Regulations.

  • Date: 7th March 2026
  • Venue: NLU Odisha Campus
  • Format: Top 8 papers selected after review will be presented before an expert panel.

Themes – Law, Technology & Governance in the Digital Era:

Participants may explore:

  • MeitY’s AI Governance Guidelines and non-legislative frameworks
  • India’s Data Protection regime and sectoral overlaps
  • Cryptocurrencies & VDAs in India’s digital ecosystem
  • Authorship, infringement & liability in generative AI
  • Implications of India’s Online Gaming framework
  • Platform liability & content regulation guidelines
  • Liberalised FDI Policy & IN-SPACe framework in the global space race

(Themes are suggestive; novel ideas under the broad theme are encouraged.)


Competition Structure:

  1. Paper Submission Round – 3000–3500 words (excluding footnotes & abstract)
  2. Review Process – AI & plagiarism screening (threshold 15%); top 8 papers selected by SAM & Co.
  3. Presentation Round – 20 minutes per team (including Q&A); visual aids allowed.

Eligibility:

  • Open to UG & PG law students
  • Individual or team of 2 (cross-institutional teams allowed)

Registration Fees:

  • Individual: ₹400
  • Team of 2: ₹700

Awards & Recognition:

  • Winner: ₹15,000 + Internship at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.
  • Runner-up: ₹10,000
  • 1st Runners-up: ₹5,000
  • Top 5 Papers: Publication on SCC Times
