About CARCIL

The Centre for Advanced Research on Corporate and Insolvency Laws (CARCIL) at CNLU is a Centre of Excellence focused on Corporate Law, Governance, Insolvency, and allied fields. CARCIL fosters intellectual curiosity and critical thinking by organising research projects, workshops, lectures, and faculty development programmes. Its mission is to advance scholarship and practice in corporate and insolvency laws while encouraging innovative approaches to legal problem‑solving.

About the Competition

The CNLU–CARCIL National Deal Negotiation Competition (CCNDNC) 2026 is a practice‑oriented initiative centred on FinTech Laws. Designed to simulate real‑world commercial negotiations, the competition equips participants with transactional and negotiation skills at the intersection of finance, technology, and law.

The competition unfolds in three stages:

  • Stage I: Submission of a negotiation plan or preliminary deal brief.
  • Stage II: Virtual negotiation rounds for the top 24 teams.
  • Stage III: On‑campus final rounds on 5 September 2026, where the top 8 teams will engage in live negotiations involving complex fintech transactions.

The event will test participants’ commercial awareness, adaptability, legal reasoning, and negotiation skills.

  • Provisional Registrations & Pre‑invite Release: 22 June 2026
  • Problem Statement & Final Registration Opens: 1 July 2026
  • Last Date for Clarifications: 3 July 2026
  • Final Registration & Negotiation Plan Submission: 15 July 2026
  • Announcement of Top 24 Teams: 30 July 2026
  • Preliminary Virtual Rounds: 16 August 2026
  • Ranklist & Top 8 Teams Announcement: 18 August 2026
  • Final Rounds (On‑Campus): 5 September 2026

Team Composition

Each team must consist of two members, assuming fixed roles:

  • Member 1: Client
  • Member 2: Counsel

Participants must adhere to their assigned roles throughout all stages.

Registration & Fees

  • Final Registration & Negotiation Plan Submission: ₹2000 per team
  • After qualifying for Preliminary Rounds (Top 24): ₹3000 per team

Eligibility

  • Students enrolled in full‑time 3‑year or 5‑year LL.B. programmes recognised by the Bar Council of India.
  • Students pursuing LL.M. programmes from UGC‑recognised universities.
  • Undergraduate or postgraduate students in Finance, Management, Economics, or allied disciplines from recognised institutions.
