About the Organizer

Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Law and Legal Studies (CLLS), established in 2010, is a constituent college of Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU), Moradabad. TMU was founded under Uttar Pradesh Government Act No. 30 of 2008 and approved by the University Grants Commission in the same year.

CLLS offers a wide range of legal education programmes including B.A. LL.B., B.B.A. LL.B., B.Com. LL.B., LL.M., and Ph.D. in Law, and has established the Centre for Postgraduate Legal Studies for advanced legal education and research.

About the Competition

The 1st Teerthanker Mahaveer National Moot Court Competition 2026 is being conducted under the theme: “In Pursuit of Advocacy, Argument & Justice.”

The competition aims to provide law students with a platform to:

  • Enhance advocacy and courtroom argumentation skills
  • Develop legal research and drafting abilities
  • Engage with contemporary legal issues through simulated litigation

Competition Structure

  • Conducted virtually in a fully paperless format
  • All processes including registration, memorial submission, judging, and certificate issuance will be online

Eligibility

  • Open to undergraduate and postgraduate law students enrolled in institutions recognized by the Bar Council of India
  • Teams from law schools across India are eligible

Team Composition

  • Each team must consist of three members:
    • Two Speakers
    • One Researcher

Prizes

  • Cash Prizes: Worth ₹30,500
  • E-certificates: To all participants

Registration Details

  • Registration Fee: ₹2,500 per team
  • Brochure, moot proposition, and detailed rules will be released shortly
  • Institutions are encouraged to circulate this pre-invitation among Moot Court Societies, faculty coordinators, and students
