About NALSA:

Constituted under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, NALSA is entrusted with providing free legal services to weaker sections of society and organizing Lok Adalat for amicable settlement of disputes. The internship programme is designed to familiarize law students with NALSA’s functioning, including its schemes, modules, and field-level activities.

Applications Open for NALSA Internship Programme 2025!

The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) has officially announced its Internship Programme for 2025, offering law students across India a unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the field of legal aid, dispute resolution, and access to justice initiatives.

Internship Details:

  • Eligibility:
    • Open to students pursuing a 3-Year LL.B. or 5-Year Integrated Law Course from recognized universities/colleges.
    • Preference for 2nd/3rd year students of the 3-Year LL.B. and 4th/5th year students of the 5-Year Integrated Course.
  • Duration:
    • One month (four weeks), beginning on the 1st of each month.
  • Application Process:
    • Submit CV/Resume, Expression of Interest (one-page write-up), and No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your institution.
    • Applications must be made online only through the official NALSA website only.
    • The application form is accessible two months prior to the intended internship month.
  • Selection:
    • Based on individual merit and subject to approval by the competent authority.

Internship Guidelines:

  • Attendance: Minimum 90% attendance required for certification.
  • Certificate: Issued only upon successful completion; no recommendation letters will be provided.
  • Stipend: No stipend, TA/DA, or accommodation will be provided. Interns must arrange their own stay.
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Saturday, with formal black & white dress code as per Bar Council norms.
  • Resources: Interns must carry their own laptops.
  • Field Exposure: Visits to Supreme Court Mediation Centre, Supreme Court Library, National Lok Adalat, and Legal Aid Defence Counsel Offices.
