Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition 2026 – India National Rounds
The Indian Society of International Law (ISIL), New Delhi, in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), announces the India National Rounds of the Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition 2026. Since its inception in 2001, this competition has been a premier platform for law students to engage with International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and sharpen their advocacy skills in a spirit of academic excellence.
The competition is named in memory of Henry Dunant, co-founder of the ICRC and the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Its principal objective is to foster awareness of IHL among law students and to encourage comparative study of its application across jurisdictions. The competition also seeks to cultivate advocacy skills and promote academic excellence through friendly competition.
Participation is open to all universities, colleges, and institutions imparting legal education leading to LL.B./BL or LL.M./ML degrees. Each institution may nominate one team of three student members. Students who have participated in previous editions are not eligible to re-enter.
The Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition continues to be a cornerstone in legal education, offering students an opportunity to engage deeply with humanitarian law and advocacy. Winners of the India National Rounds will represent India in the Asia Pacific Round in Hong Kong, thereby contributing to the global dialogue on IHL.
