Dr. Kailasnath Katju Law College, Ratlam (M.P.) Institution 60-year-old. This college was established by Nagar Palika Nigam Ratlam in the year 1963-64. It was formerly known as ‘Nagarpalika Law College Ratlam’ and Later on the name of college changed from Nagarpalika Law College to Dr. Kailasnath Katju Law College Ratlam. Dr Kailasnath Katju was native of Ratlam District, and he was Governor of Orissa and West Bengal; he was Home Affair Minister of Independent India. This was a first private law college of Vikram University Ujjain running self-financed courses in law. Presently college offering BA LLB (Hon) 5YDC. LL. B 3YDC, & LL.M 2YDC courses under the supervision of Ratlam Educational Society Ratlam (MP) This college aims at to impart quality legal education, develop self-respect and professional ethics towards litigants Bench and bar. Our motto is to create living instrumentalities to provide justice social, economic, & political and alert the aspirants for healthy environment. Our objectives are to develop vision to adopt law as flexible instrument of social order, social change, social solidarity, communal harmony and national integration to serve the society more particularly it downtrodden and weaker sections of tribal areas.
The moot problem, carefully crafted by legal experts, presents participants with complex legal issues that test their analytical abilities and knowledge of the law. As participants navigate through intricate legal scenarios, they must conduct exhaustive research, analyse case laws, and present well-reasoned arguments before a distinguished panel of judges. Throughout the competition, participants are encouraged to demonstrate not only their legal acumen but also their ability to work cohesively as a team. Mooting requires collaboration, compromise, and effective communication between teammates. It is a reflection of the attributes essential for success in the legal profession.
The Preliminary Round of the moot court competition will be judged solely on the basis of the memorials submitted by the participating teams. The memorials will be evaluated for their content, legal analysis, research, clarity of argumentation, and adherence to formatting guidelines. The scores obtained in the memorial evaluation will determine the teams qualifying for the subsequent rounds. No oral pleadings will be conducted at this stage.
All students enrolled bona fide in an undergraduate i.e., 3 years/ 5 years, and post graduate law program conducted by any college or university shall be eligible for participation in the competition.
The teams may register themselves by filling out the Google Form (attached at the end of the post), latest by 15th December 2025 (23:59 IST).
