About the LL.M. Programme:

NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), invites applications for the 2‑Year LL.M. in Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws (2026–2028).

This first‑of‑its‑kind programme is designed to address the growing demand for insolvency professionals and legal experts in India. With a dual‑campus structure, students will spend:

  • Year 1 at NALSAR, Hyderabad – focusing on foundational legal concepts, coursework, seminars, and case studies.
  • Year 2 at IICA, New Delhi – specialising in advanced topics, practical applications, internships, and research projects.

The programme bridges academic rigor with industry practice, preparing graduates for careers in law firms, consultancies, insolvency professional agencies, asset reconstruction companies, and academia.

Eligibility:

  • LL.B. Degree (3‑year or 5‑year) with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).
  • Final‑year LL.B. students may apply.
  • No upper age limit.

  • Entrance Exam (MCQs): 60% weightage
  • Personal Interview: 40% weightage
  • Syllabus: Contract Law, Sale of Goods Act, Property Law, Company Law, Tax Law, SEBI & Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code.
  • Duration: 2 hours, online proctored exam.

Programme Structure (Highlights):

  • Total Credits: 60 (2000 marks)
  • Core Courses: Research Methodology, Corporate Insolvency, Debt Recovery Laws, Liquidation & Bankruptcy Process, Cross‑Border Insolvency, MSME & Group Insolvency, Corporate Finance & Accounting, Insolvency Mediation, Financial Markets.
  • Internships: 3 across semesters.
  • Dissertation & Viva: 6 credits.

Seat Matrix:

  • Total Seats: 66 (75% All India, 25% Telangana Resident).
  • Categories: General (33), SC (9), ST (4), OBC/BC (14), EWS (6).
  • Reservations:
    • 30% seats for female candidates.
    • 5% seats for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWD).
    • 20% seats for Foreign Nationals (over and above sanctioned strength).

Fee Structure:

  • Year 1 (NALSAR): ₹6,34,000 (includes tuition, hostel, mess).
  • Year 2 (IICA): ₹7,85,000 (includes tuition, hostel, mess).
  • Application Fee: ₹5,000 (General), ₹4,000 (OBC/PWD), ₹3,500 (SC/ST/EWS).
