Eligibility Criteria (UGC Regulations, 2018):

Option A:

  • Master’s degree in Law with 55% marks (5% relaxation for eligible categories).
  • Must have cleared UGC NET in Law or equivalent (SLET/SET).
  • OR awarded a Ph.D. in accordance with UGC Regulations (2009/2016).
  • Candidates registered before 11 July 2009 exempted from NET/SLET/SET, subject to conditions:
    • Ph.D. awarded in regular mode.
    • Thesis evaluated by two external examiners.
    • Open viva voce conducted.
    • Two research papers published (at least one refereed).
    • Two conference presentations (UGC/ICSSR/CSIR funded).

Option B:

  • Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked in top 500 (QS, THE, ARWU).

Note: Shortlisting will be based on academic score (Appendix II, UGC Regulations 2018), but final selection depends solely on interview performance.

General Instructions:

  • Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  • Shortlisting at the discretion of the University; call letters only for shortlisted candidates.
  • University may conduct written test / skill test / presentation / mock class as part of selection.

  • EWS/OBC-NCL certificates must be issued after 31 March 2025 by UP authorities.
  • Candidates from outside UP applying under reserved categories will be treated as Unreserved.
