About the Competition:
Lex Scripta, 2026 is designed to immerse students in the role of a judge. Participants will:
- Examine a factual matrix
- Apply constitutional law principles
- Draft a comprehensive, well-reasoned judgment
The competition cultivates judicial reasoning, reinforces adherence to the rule of law, and promotes clarity in legal writing.
Eligibility:
- Open to students enrolled in 3-year LL.B. or 5-year integrated LL.B. programs at recognized institutions in India.
- Participation can be individual or in teams of two.
- Multiple entries from the same institution are allowed.
- Registration is free of charge.
Rules & Guidelines:
- Judgment Length: Max 3,000 words (excluding cover page & footnotes).
- Language: English.
- Citation Style: Bluebook (20th or 21st edition).
- Submission Format: Word (.docx) + PDF (.pdf).
- Deadline: 22nd February 2026, 11:59 PM.

- Anonymity: Strictly maintained; cover page must include only team code and case details.
- Originality: Plagiarism >10% or use of generative AI tools will lead to disqualification.
