Introduction:

The Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA), committed to the mission of “Access to Justice for All” through its guiding principles of “Sewa, Samadhan, Samarpan”, has announced its Summer Internship Programme‑2026. This initiative offers law students a unique opportunity to witness and experience the functioning of DSLSA, which tirelessly works to extend free legal aid and promote awareness of welfare schemes among marginalized communities.

Objective:

The programme is designed to provide interns with first‑hand exposure to the day‑to‑day operations of DSLSA. By engaging directly at the grassroots level, students will gain practical insights into legal issues faced by society and understand the collaborative efforts of stakeholders in ensuring justice delivery. Interns will also observe the functioning of the Free Legal Aid System and the role of DSLSA/NALSA in spreading awareness of government welfare schemes.

Eligibility:

• Law students pursuing Five‑Year Integrated Law Courses or Three‑Year Law Courses from recognized universities/colleges in India are eligible to apply.
• Applicants must demonstrate initiative, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working for marginalized sections of society.

Skills Required:

• Proficiency in written communication (English).
• Legal writing and basic legal knowledge.
• Competence in computer operations (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Number of Seats:

• 200 internship slots are available for Summer Internship Programme‑2026.

Application Timeline:

• 1st May 2026 (from 10:00 AM onwards): Online applications open via DSLSA’s official website.
• 15th May 2026 (till 5:00 PM): Last date for submission of applications.
  • Applications must include a passport‑size photograph and a recommendation letter issued by the Principal/Head of Department of the Law Department.
  • Incomplete applications without required documents will not be considered.
• 20th May 2026: Shortlisting of candidates based on appropriate criteria. Selected students will be informed via e‑mail.
• 23rd May 2026: Last date for shortlisted students to send confirmation e‑mail to legallitwing‑dslsa.

Nature of Internship:

Interns will:

• Work closely with DSLSA officials and legal aid stakeholders.
• Gain exposure to legal issues faced by marginalized communities.
• Participate in awareness initiatives and observe the functioning of welfare schemes.
• Enhance their legal skills in a multicultural and socially responsive environment.

Key Notes:

• The internship provides hands‑on experience but is primarily aimed at learning and social engagement.
• Students are expected to be socially active, empathetic, and committed to the cause of justice.
