The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) invites applications from law students under its Law Internship Scheme‑2026. This initiative seeks to engage 30 law interns from reputed law universities and institutes across India, offering them practical exposure to investigation and prosecution work.

Internship Locations:

Interns will be attached to CBI officers at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Bangalore.

Eligibility:

• Applicant must be a citizen of India.
• Must be a law student enrolled in a reputed Law University/Institute.
• For 5‑year Integrated LL.B course: applicant should have completed or be undergoing the 8th semester.
• For 3‑year LL.B course: applicant should have completed or be undergoing the 4th semester.

Internship Conditions:

• No stipend will be provided; interns must arrange their own stay and travel.
• CBI will not provide medical or other facilities.
• Internship does not confer any right to future employment in CBI.
• Interns will assist law officers and investigating officers in legal research, drafting court applications, preparing replies, presenting evidence, examining witnesses, trial work, pairvi work, and data collection.
• Interns must sign an Oath of Secrecy at the time of joining, binding during and beyond the internship.

Duration:

The internship will be for a period of three to six months.

  • Recommendation letter from Principal/HoD for minimum three months internship (.pdf)
