About FSSAI

The Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is a statutory body established under the Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006, functioning under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. As the apex authority for food safety, FSSAI is entrusted with ensuring compliance with food standards and safeguarding public health across the nation.

About the Opportunity

In its fourth year, the FSSAI Internship Scheme continues to provide structured learning opportunities for young scholars. The programme is designed to foster industry–academia collaboration and expose interns to diverse aspects of food regulation, safety administration, and policy implementation.

Eligibility Criteria

Applications are invited from students pursuing full‑time degrees from recognized institutions in India or abroad in the following disciplines:

• Business Administration & Management (including Policy Regulation, Finance, Taxation Law, Marketing, Psychology, HR, Economics, Statistics, ICT, Entrepreneurship, etc.)
• Public Policy / Public Administration (Postgraduate Degree/Diploma; only at FSSAI HQ)
• Law (Bachelor’s/Master’s level)

Stipend

A stipend of ₹10,000 will be awarded for the entire internship period, subject to recommendation by the concerned FSSAI Division/Office/Laboratory.

Duration

• Minimum: 2 months
• Maximum: 6 months
• Internships shorter than 2 months will not be offered.

Application Process

• Interested candidates must apply online in the prescribed format.
• Fresh applications are required even if candidates have applied in previous cycles.
• Shortlisted candidates may be asked to submit a write‑up/presentation for final selection.
• The final list of selected interns, along with joining details, will be published on the FSSAI official website.

• Last Date to Apply: 1 October 2026
• Shortlist Announcement: 1st/2nd Week of October 2026
• Date of Joining: To be intimated by FSSAI
