About RGNUL
Established under the Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006, RGNUL is a premier institution of legal education in India. With a modern residential campus and over 1000 students, it is recognized nationally for excellence in teaching, research, and innovation. The Center for Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights (CIIPR) focuses on teaching and promoting research in Intellectual Property (IPR). It aims to:
- Synergize all forms of IPR across sciences, technology, engineering, and other disciplines.
- Promote innovation and awareness among professionals and the public.
- Develop IP Clinics and modernize IPR infrastructure to support stakeholders.
Concept Note
Labour is the foundation of economic growth and social justice. India’s recent consolidation of labour laws into four Labour Codes seeks to simplify compliance but raises concerns about protecting vulnerable workers—particularly women, children, and those in the informal economy.
Key challenges include:
- Informal Economy: Nearly 90% of India’s workforce lacks adequate legal protection, facing low wages, unsafe conditions, and limited access to justice.
- Women Workers: Persistent barriers such as unequal pay, workplace discrimination, and inadequate maternity support demand responsive labour laws.
- Child Labour: Despite strong legislation, socio‑economic factors continue to push children into exploitative work.
- Changing Work Patterns: Digitalisation, AI, and platform‑based employment require new labour policies balancing competitiveness with workers’ rights.
Two‑Day International Seminar
Theme: Inclusive Labour Law Regime in India: Addressing Women Workers, Child Labour, and Informal Economy
The seminar will provide a platform for scholars, judges, policymakers, practitioners, administrators, researchers, trade unions, civil society, and students to critically discuss labour law reforms, human rights perspectives, international standards, and emerging challenges.
Aim: To encourage interdisciplinary research and generate policy recommendations that strengthen labour governance and promote social justice in India and beyond.
Objectives of Seminar
The seminar seeks to achieve the following objectives:
- To examine the evolving labour law regime in India in light of recent legislative reforms and changing patterns of employment.
- To analyse the legal and policy challenges relating to women workers, child labour, and workers engaged in the informal economy.

Authors are also welcome to submit papers on any other contemporary issue related to labour law, industrial relations, employment policy, women workers, child labour, social security, labour welfare, human rights, or allied interdisciplinary areas that are consistent with the central theme of the seminar.
Procedure for Submission of Abstracts
- The abstract (of about 250 words) should be sent as an attachment in a Word file. Abstracts will be peer-reviewed before they are accepted.
- The following information, in the given format, should be sent along with the Abstract:
- Name of the Participant, Official Designation/Institution Details, Address and Email ID, Title of Abstract.
- Submit your abstract to seminarnlus@gmail.com
- Guidelines for Paper Submission and Other Guidelines:
- The title of the paper should be followed by Name, Designation, Name of the Organization / University / Institution and Email address. It is mandatory to mention the Email address, as all future correspondence will be through it;
- Name and details of Co-author, if any;
- Chapter: Chapter should be in Times New Roman 12 point font and double spaced. Main Title should be in full capitals, bold and centered 12 point font. Sub-titles should be in sentence case, bold and 12 point font. Author’s names should be in small capitals and centered 12 point font Footnotes should be in Times New Roman 12-point font;
- Citation Format: Please use footnotes rather than endnotes. Footnotes should conform to The Indian Law Institute, New Delhi Style;
- Submission of the abstract: A cover letter with the name(s) of the author(s) and address, designation, institution/affiliation, the title of the manuscript and contact information (email, phone, etc.) is compulsory to submit. All submissions must contain an abstract of not more than 300 words with 5 Minimum Keywords;
- Originality of Manuscripts: All the contributions should be the original work of the contributors and should not have been submitted for consideration in any other Publication. Any plagiarized work will be out-rightly rejected;
- Copyright: The contributions presented to and accepted for publication and the copyrights therein shall be the Intellectual Property of Law Mantra;
- The title of the Chapter should be followed by Name, Designation, Name of the Organization / University / Institution and Email address. It is mandatory to mention the Email address, as all future correspondence will be through it;
- Name and details of Co-author, if any;
- The paper should be typed in MS WORD format (preferably 2007 or 2010);
- The paper must be in single column layout with margins justified on both sides;
- The length of the paper should not be below 4,000 words (including footnotes) and Should not Exceed more than 10,000 (Including Footnotes).
- Registration Fee for the Student category is Rs 800 (Per Individual) and for Faculty/Professional/Research Scholar/Other is Rs 1200 (Per Individual). Both Author and Co–Author have to register separately.
- Only Selected Abstract will be allowed for final registration.

Publication Opportunity
Selected will be published in a book bearing ISBN. (If the Paper will be Selected for Publication in a Book bearing ISBN, Contributors have to Contact the Publisher and will have to pay the charge if anyone wishes to procure a Hard Copy of the Book as per bill raised by the Publisher).

Rules for the Presentation
- No abstract or full paper shall be accepted after the last date of submission respectively;
- Participants/Paper Presenters have to register after the acceptance of abstract with payment of required fees;
- For participation, registration is mandatory on confirmation of the participation. Only registered participants will be allowed to take part in Conference;
- All the registered participants will be provided a participation certificate;
- Event will be hosted through Zoom/Cisco-Webex or any other Online Platform.;
- Technical Session will be organized through Google Meet/ Zoom/Cisco- Webex or any other Online Platform.
