H.P. University Regional Centre, Dharamshala (HPURC), established in 1992, has emerged as a hub of higher education and research, offering teaching, consultancy, seminars, workshops, and publications across diverse programs; originally functioning from Government Degree College, Dharamshala, it shifted to its own campus at Mohli Khaniara in 2013, about 10 km from the city, and continues to position itself as a distinguished institution committed to knowledge preservation, academic excellence, and addressing evolving educational challenges.
The upcoming conference on disaster management, set against the backdrop of climate uncertainty and ecological imbalance, is dedicated to addressing the unique vulnerabilities of mountainous regions to earthquakes, landslides, flash floods, and forest fires. It will bring together academicians, researchers, policymakers, legal professionals, environmentalists, administrators, and students to deliberate on disaster risk reduction, preparedness, response, and recovery through the integrated lens of law, science, technology, and governance. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and encouraging the exchange of research findings, success stories, and policy experiences, the conference aims to develop sustainable, community‑centric approaches that strengthen resilience and promote global cooperation toward the shared vision of “Building Resilient Communities and a Safer Future.”
