Faculty Recruitment:

NMIMS, a leading multi-disciplinary deemed university with campuses across India and a dedicated School of Law, invites applications for faculty positions at the levels of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. Available Positions:

1. Professor:

  • A Ph.D. Degree with First Class Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Law
  • A Minimum of 15 years of experience in teaching/research and / or industry at the level of Associate Professor or equivalent grade, excluding period spent on obtaining the research leading to Ph.D degree/academic administration in a University or/and in any of its affiliated College or/and Research Institute or research Centre, wholly or in parts and,
  • Minimum 10 SCI Publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals
  • Minimum Research Score of 120
  • Successfully guided at least 2 doctoral candidates.

OR

In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:

  • First Class Master’s Degree in Law.
  • Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. Degree in Law and industrial/professional experience of fifteen years managerial experience, out of which at least eight years at senior level or in a position equivalent to the level of Associate Professor/Reader.
  • Published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work in the peer-reviewed or UGC listed Journals.  Published work may include books, Research Periodical, Ph.D. guidance, Consultancy projects, and patent filed.

2. Associate Professor:

  • A Ph.D. Degree with First Class Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Law
  • A Minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching/research and / or industry at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent grade, excluding period spent on obtaining the research leading to Ph.D degree/academic administration in a University or/and in any of its affiliated College or/and Research Institute or research Centre, wholly or in parts.
  • Minimum 7 SCI Publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals
  • Minimum Research Score of 75

OR

In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:

  • First Class Master’s Degree in Law.
  • Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. Degree in Law and industrial / professional experience of eight years in a position equivalent to the level of Assistant Professor.
  • Published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work in the peer-reviewed or UGC listed Journals.  Published work may include books, Research Periodical, Ph.D. guidance, Consultancy projects, and patent filed.

3. Assistant Professor:

  • Master’s Degree in a related discipline with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade or Cumulative Grade Point Average in a defined scale, with good academic recordProvided that LL.M course with one year duration introduced by the UGC and are allowed to be one of the minimum essential qualification for Assistant Professorship as at present, shall not be considered as one of the essential qualification unless supported by and supplemented with M.Phil degree.
  • The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or SLET/SET accredited by UGC.
  • Without prejudice to the above, the following conditions may be considered desirable :

a) Ph.D. preferred with 2 years of experience.

b) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or any similar agency.

c) Published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work in the peer-reviewed or UGC listed Journals.  Published work may include books, Research Periodical, Ph.D. guidance, Consultancy projects, and patent filed.

Pay Scales: 

As per UGC guidelines; but will not be a constraint for the right candidate.
