Course Introduction:

Competition law in India, anchored in the Competition Act, 2002, ensures efficiency, innovation, and consumer welfare. With digital markets reshaping commerce, new challenges arise:

  • Self‑preferencing and gatekeeping by platforms
  • Data monopolies and algorithmic control
  • Balancing regulation with innovation

This course critically examines the evolution of Indian competition law, landmark CCI and Supreme Court cases, international jurisprudence, and emerging debates on digital competition and platform accountability.

Course Details:

  • Duration: 32 hours (2 credits)
  • Dates: 19th Dec 2025 – 31st Jan 2026
  • Mode: Online
  • Eligibility: Open to all law students and legal professionals
  • Attendance: Minimum 75% required for assessment eligibility
  • Assessment: Online MCQ‑based test; certificates issued upon completion

  • Day 1 (19 Dec): Basics of Competition Law & Economic Foundations
  • Day 3 (27 Dec): Cartels – Identification, Investigation, Major Cases
  • Day 5 (3 Jan): Section 4 – Abuse of Dominance
  • Day 7–8 (9–10 Jan): Sections 5 & 6 – Combinations & Regulation
  • Day 10 (17 Jan): Digital Markets – Key Features
  • Day 13 (24 Jan): Balancing Innovation, Competition & Regulation
  • Day 15 (31 Jan): India’s move towards global alignment

(Sessions range between 1.5 – 3 hours, mostly evenings.)
