Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai, established in 2014, is among India’s leading NLUs. It is dedicated to advancing legal education and research while promoting societal well‑being. The University equips students with advocacy skills, legal expertise, and the ability to contribute to law reforms. Located in Powai, Mumbai, it provides an excellent environment for higher studies in law. Its curriculum follows BCI and UGC standards, taught by experienced faculty. Under the leadership of Vice‑Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Ukey, the institution continues to inspire excellence in legal scholarship.
Air and space law are vital areas of international law, addressing issues like passenger safety, hijacking, air pollution, and aerial warfare, while also shaping global security and sovereignty. To prevent conflicts and ensure peace, understanding these legal frameworks is essential. In this context, MNLU Mumbai established the Centre for Research in Air & Space Law as a hub for advanced study and dialogue. The Centre focuses on strengthening legal and policy frameworks for safe, secure, and sustainable aerospace governance. It supports education, disseminates knowledge, and promotes research in international air and space law. Its mission is to contribute to the development of law and policy through graduate and postgraduate teaching and scholarly inquiry.
The Indian Review of Space Law (IRASL) Blog was launched in May of 2023 with the aim of making the Indian Review of Air and Space Law more accessible, compact and digestible to readers interested in aviation and space law. The idea was conceptualised by the active contributions of the CRASL Team. Free from the trappings of academic complexity and rigidity, the IRASL Blog provides analyses of specific, contemporary legal issues in bite-sized and easy-to-read pieces; all the while making no compromises on the quality of the content. With articles ranging from pragmatic application to abstract analysis, and everything in between, we endeavour to throw open, air and space law to the masses, no longer making it a niche field of law.
The submission guidelines for the same are as follows:-
