The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), established in 1998, is one of India’s premier law universities. It has consistently fostered vital conversations on law and justice, using law as a tool for social change. NALSAR has anchored justice education across diverse areas including land rights, disability empowerment, criminal justice, child and youth justice, and international law. With a commitment to building an ethical legal culture that sustains the rule of law, and with students and faculty drawn from across India and abroad, NALSAR is widely regarded among the country’s top law schools.
The Centre for Child and Youth Justice (CCYJ) at NALSAR is a specialised centre dedicated to advancing the rights and welfare of children and youth through research, advocacy, and education. Its mission is to serve children through law by collaborating with government bodies, international organisations, and civil society stakeholders to shape policies that protect and empower young individuals. As a hub for interdisciplinary research, legal education, advocacy, and capacity-building, CCYJ provides policy recommendations aligned with national and international standards. Currently, it is running a project on “Access to Justice for Children through systems strengthening on child protection issues” funded by CRY – Child Rights and You.
The Centre for Child and Youth Justice (CCYJ) at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad invites submissions for its blog. The CCYJ Blog is a platform for critical discussion, analytical commentary, and meaningful engagement on contemporary issues in child rights and juvenile justice.
