About MNLU Mumbai
Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai, established under the Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014, is one of India’s premier National Law Universities. The University is steadily strengthening its academic, administrative, and financial infrastructure to meet the standards expected of a Centre for Excellence, while upholding strict norms of propriety and transparency.
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Alok Aradhe, Judge of the Supreme Court of India, serves as the Chancellor of MNLU Mumbai, while the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the High Court of Bombay is the Ex-Officio Pro-Chancellor.
About CALSTAR
The Centre for Advanced Legal Studies, Training and Research (CALSTAR) was established in 2022 as an independent department dedicated to academic, research, and training activities in law. It functions through three wings:
- Research and Publication Wing – Produces legal scholarship, reports, alternative judgments, and editorial activities.
- Social Media and Marketing Wing – Manages online presence across major platforms.
- Events and Public Relations Wing – Handles external communication, participant queries, and outreach.
Patron and Faculty Leadership
- Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Uikey, Vice Chancellor of MNLU Mumbai, is a nationally respected academician specializing in constitutional law, administrative law, and human rights.
- Mr. Suraj Karande, Assistant Professor of Economics, serves as Centre Coordinator of CALSTAR, promoting interdisciplinary research.
- Ms. Aastha Tiwari, Assistant Professor of Law, focuses on Technology Law, IPR, Data Privacy, and Environmental Law.
About the Competition
The Blog Writing Competition seeks to foster informed legal discourse and encourage analytical writing on contemporary issues in corporate, financial, and economic law. Participants are invited to critically examine legal challenges, interpret evolving jurisprudence, and contribute original perspectives to policy and regulatory debates.
Objectives
- Encourage scholarly engagement with corporate, financial, and economic laws.
- Promote analytical and research-oriented legal writing.
- Provide a platform for well-reasoned legal arguments.
- Foster awareness of dynamic regulatory and judicial responses.
- Recognize excellence in legal research and writing.

Eligibility & Registration
- Open to UG/PG students, research scholars, academicians, and legal professionals.
- Registration Fees:
- Single Authorship – ₹300
- Co-authorship – ₹500
- Registration Deadline: 25 September 2026
- Submission Deadline: 5 October 2026
- Results Announcement: 30 October 2026
Prizes
- Winner: Internship opportunity + ₹5,000 cash prize
- Second Prize: ₹3,000 cash prize
- Third Prize: ₹2,000 cash prize
- Additional incentives include structured training workshops on academic blog writing, with advanced sessions for top performers.
Guidelines
- Original work only; plagiarism ≤15%.
- AI-generated content ≤10%.
- Word limit: 1200–2000 words.
- Analytical and solution-oriented submissions preferred.
- References via hyperlinks; OSCOLA (4th ed.) for footnotes/endnotes.
- Co-authorship allowed (max 2 authors).
