Online Certificate Course | School of Law | National Forensic Sciences University | Mode: Online | Registration Deadline: 11 November 2026
Neurotechnology is moving beyond specialised laboratories into clinical care, consumer products, education, employment, defence and criminal justice. BCIs, neuro-prosthetics, neuromodulations, wearable EEG devices and AI-supported neural-signal interpretations etc. can create significant benefits, but also challenge established legal concepts of privacy, autonomy, consent, identity, responsibility, equality and standard of proof. The legal system must therefore develop the ability to distinguish scientifically justified inference from technological overstatement. These developments require legal professionals who can understand both the promise and the limitations of brain-based technologies.
Structured interdisciplinary training in neurolaw remains limited in India. As an emerging global hub for forensic and legal education, we must cultivate a new generation of professionals, capable of understanding and regulating these technologies. NFSU is uniquely placed to connect forensic science, behavioural science, criminal justice, technology and law, while CNL contributes focused international expertise and a global network.
This online certificate course titled “Mind, Machine & Justice: Legal Implications of Neurotechnology” aims to explore the intersection of neuroscience, law, and emerging technologies. As neurotechnology increasingly interacts with human cognition through brain–computer interfaces, neuro-prosthetics, and cognitive monitoring systems; it poses unprecedented ethical, legal, and policy challenges.
This course will pioneer Neuro-Law education in India, bridging the gap between scientific innovation and legal governance and assist in translating emerging international principles into practical safeguards, evidentiary standards and policy options relevant to India. It will equip participants with interdisciplinary competencies to analyse, interpret, and draft policy solutions for regulating neurotechnology in India.
Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:
