About the Refresher Courses:

The Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, in collaboration with the Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia, is organising a Two-Week Online Multidisciplinary Refresher Course in Law and Allied Disciplines on the theme “New Criminal Laws, Governance and Society in a Changing World.”

The course aims to provide an interdisciplinary academic platform for faculty members, researchers and other eligible academic professionals to critically examine the evolving relationship between law, governance and society in the contemporary world. With significant transformations taking place in India’s criminal justice framework, constitutional governance, technological development, environmental regulation and human rights protection, the role of legal education and academic research has become increasingly important.

The refresher course seeks to facilitate meaningful academic discussions on these emerging developments through expert lectures, interactive sessions, critical analysis and interdisciplinary perspectives. It will also encourage participants to integrate contemporary legal developments into their teaching methodologies, research activities and academic practices.

• Digitalisation, Cybercrime, Data Protection and Surveillance
• Labour Reforms, Economic Regulation and Corporate Governance

• Gender Justice, Child Rights and Human Rights
• Democracy, Media, Public Accountability and Global Governance

Eligibility for Participation:

Faculty members and eligible post-doctoral research associates from universities, colleges and Institutes of National Importance in Law and allied disciplines.

Duration of Programme:

Two-Weeks Online Refresher Course has a duration of 12 working days and 72 contact hours (six hours a day, six days a week), excluding Sundays. The course will consist of four sessions of one and half hour each, conducted daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a lunch break from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
