About the Journal

SVKM’s NMIMS is a privately deemed university located in Mumbai. The NMIMS Student Law Review is the flagship law journal of NMIMS Kirit P. Mehta School of Law, established to provide a forum for students to engage in quality legal discourse on contemporary issues.

The Journal is committed to cultivating rigorous academic research and scholarly writing. Its scope is broad and interdisciplinary, welcoming submissions that critically engage with diverse areas of law and contribute to nuanced, impactful discourse.

About the Call for Papers

The Editorial Board invites original and unpublished manuscripts in the form of long articles, short articles, case notes, case comments, and book reviews. Submissions should address issues across corporate and business laws, while interdisciplinary perspectives are strongly encouraged.

Categories for Submissions

  • Book Review (2000–4000 words): Crisp reviews of recently published books on corporate and business law themes.
  • Case Notes & Comments (1500–3000 words): Critical assessment of recent/landmark judicial pronouncements, legislations, or bills.
  • Short Articles (3000–5000 words): In-depth study of specific legal issues in a concise format.
  • Long Articles (5000–8000 words): Comprehensive analysis of contemporary legal issues, identifying lacunae or offering holistic coverage.

Themes

Submissions may fall under the following broad themes (illustrative, not exhaustive):

  • Business Law: Corporate Governance, M&A, Competition Law, Banking & Finance, Taxation, Labour & Employment.
  • Intellectual Property Law: Patents, Copyright, Trademarks, Trade Secrets, IP & Emerging Tech, Traditional Knowledge.
  • Constitutional Law: Fundamental Rights, Federalism, Judicial Review, Electoral Law, Rights of Marginalized Groups.
  • Criminal Law: Procedure & Evidence, White-Collar Crime, Cyber Crime, Sentencing & Prison Reform, Gender & Criminal Law, Juvenile Justice.

Submission Guidelines

  • Formatting: Times New Roman, Font Size 12, Line Spacing 1.5, Justified. Footnotes in Font Size 10, single spacing. Case laws italicized.
  • File Format: .docx only.
  • Reports: Plagiarism report & AI report (both under 10%), preferably from Turnitin.
  • Co-authorship: Ensure both authors are CC’d in the submission email and sign off jointly.
