About ESG

Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) is a global framework assessing sustainability, ethics, and long‑term risk management.

  • Environment (E): Carbon emissions, clean energy, waste reduction, water management.
  • Social (S): Human rights, labor standards, diversity, community engagement.
  • Governance (G): Board diversity, transparency, executive accountability, anti‑corruption.

India has integrated ESG into corporate reporting through SEBI’s Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR), making disclosures mandatory for top listed entities. ESG now intersects with law, regulation, finance, human rights, and public policy, raising concerns about data reliability, comparability, and greenwashing.

About the Collegium

The International Collegium on ESG is designed as an interdisciplinary academic forum to critically examine ESG’s evolving architecture. It will:

  • Explore ESG’s transformation from voluntary CSR to regulated accountability.
  • Address challenges of disclosure, assurance, comparability, and legitimacy.
  • Discuss emerging issues: greenwashing, ESG ratings, supply‑chain responsibility, climate justice, human rights, technological disruption, and litigation.
  • Provide a platform for scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and corporate professionals to engage in meaningful debate.

Call for Papers

Original, unpublished research papers are invited from academicians, practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and corporate professionals from law and non‑law backgrounds.

Sub‑Themes include:

  • ESG & Corporate Governance (board duties, transparency, greenwashing).
  • ESG Regulation & Legal Frameworks (SEBI, BRSR, disclosure standards).
  • Environmental & Social Dimensions (climate change, biodiversity, human rights, labor inclusion).
  • ESG, Finance & Supply Chains (sustainable finance, ratings, due diligence).
