About NLUJAA
The Government of Assam established the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) in 2009. NLUJAA promotes and makes modern legal education and research facilities available to students and scholars drawn from across the country, including the North East, from different socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds.
With a proven track record of academic excellence, the university has successfully established itself as a leading institution in the field of legal education. The university’s dynamic engagement with legal research, advocacy, and social initiatives has further solidified its standing as an institution that not only educates future legal professionals but also actively contributes to the advancement of the legal field and society at large.
About CELAR
The Centre for Environmental Law, Advocacy and Research (CELAR), the first of its kind in North-East India, is devoted to strengthening and contributing to the jurisprudence on environmental law, under the auspices of the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam. CELAR endeavours to be a torchbearer of NLUJAA’s mission to translate legal knowledge and skills into an instrument that addresses various environmental concerns of the country and especially the North-Eastern region of India.

Please note that these are only suggestions, and authors are not required to limit themselves as long as their topic falls within the scope outlined for the CELAR blog. We encourage you to delve deeper into these topics.
Submission Process
Co-authorship of up to two (2) authors is allowed.
Submissions are to be made exclusively by filling out the Google Form. Any submissions made through alternative channels will not be taken into consideration.
Submitted works must be original creations of the contributor. Each submission undergoes AI and plagiarism screening. If any instance of AI or plagiarism is detected beyond the minimum usage limit, the article will be summarily rejected. The submissions should refrain from including offensive, abusive, derogatory, or potentially defamatory content. All authors also agree that they shall be solely responsible in case of any legal violations.
The author is obligated to inform the editors, if they discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their own published work. Upon discovery of the error or inaccuracy, the authors should work together with the editors to rectify the error/inaccuracy or retract the paper.
Formatting Guidelines
The submissions must be in an MS Word document formatted using Times New Roman, font size 12, and line spacing 1.5.
The file name must be “Title_CELAR Blog”. Kindly do not mention your name or association in the manuscript to maintain anonymity and unbiased review. The short title must capture the essence of the submission and not be longer than ten words.
We encourage the use of hyperlinks, as opposed to footnotes. However, if your article contains sources that cannot be linked, please use the Oxford Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA) (4th edition) style in the footnotes. The following formatting is to be followed: Font – Times New Roman, Size – 10, Single Spacing between all lines.
Articles should be between 1000 and 1500 words long and include a short abstract of up to 50 to 100 words. The abstract should only be submitted through the submission form and not included in the main article. Longer articles may be considered for publication on a case-by-case basis with the permission of the editor.
Additional Information
Not adhering to the provided guidelines may result in a prolonged review period or necessitate returning the author’s submission for required compliance adjustments. Adherence to all formatting guidelines is mandatory.
Upon receipt of your article, our Editorial Board will conduct a thorough editorial review. Authors will be notified of the acceptance or rejection decision within 10 days, although response times may occasionally extend to 14-21 days.
All submissions to the CELAR Blog undergo rigorous double-blind peer review. Publication decisions rest solely with our team. Relaxation of any rules regarding submissions is subject to the discretion of the Editorial Board.
