About the University

Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Mumbai, established in 2014 under the Maharashtra Act, is one of India’s premier National Law Universities. Guided by distinguished judges, senior advocates, academicians, and bureaucrats, the University remains committed to academic excellence and social transformation.

Programme Rationale

With litigation often burdened by delays, costs, and adversarial outcomes, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)—particularly mediation—has emerged as a preferred mechanism worldwide. India’s Mediation Act, 2023 and global commitments underscore the urgent need for trained professionals equipped with doctrinal knowledge, practical competence, and emotional intelligence.

This two‑year M.A. in Mediation & Conflict Resolution for Executives is designed to empower professionals as mediators, negotiators, ADR counsel, policy experts, and academics. In line with the National Education Policy (NEP), the programme offers an exit option after one year, awarding a Post Graduate Diploma in Mediation and Conflict Resolution.
