About the Event

Erode College of Law proudly announces the second edition of its prestigious National Drafting Championship to be held online on 21 September 2026. This year’s theme, Transgender Justice, emphasizes the transformative role of legal drafting in advancing equality, dignity, and inclusivity. Participants will engage in drafting Public Interest Litigations (PILs) that address pressing issues of transgender rights and India’s development.

About the College

Affiliated with Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai and recognized by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi, Erode College of Law is a premier institution offering holistic legal education. The college is known for its vibrant academic environment, practical training opportunities, and consistent placement records.

Eligibility

  • Open to all law students enrolled in 3-year or 5-year LL.B programs from BCI-recognized universities.
  • Participants may register individually or in teams of two.
  • Each team must submit one PIL memorial only.

Registration & Fees

  • Single Author: ₹500
  • Co-Author: ₹650
  • Registration via Google Form Link.
  • Payment to ICICI Bank, Account No. 002505016599, IFSC: ICIC0000025.

Submission Guidelines

  • PIL memorials must be drafted in English and submitted in both Word (.doc/.docx) and PDF formats.
  • Page limit: 10–12 pages.
  • Mandatory plagiarism report via Turnitin (≤20% plagiarism, ≤10% AI check).
  • Deadline: 7 September 2026, 11:59 PM via email to legaldraftingcommitteeecl@gmail.com.
  • File naming convention: “PIL Memorial of Team Code – [Team Code]”.

  • Second Prize: ₹3,000
  • Third Prize: ₹2,000
  • E-certificates for all participants.
  • Selected drafts may be published in the Sai Sindhu International Journal of Research (SSIJR) free of cost.
